Project Bonsai is an interactive installation that explores the connection between neuroscience, perception, and virtual reality (VR) through a 3D-printed bonsai tree equipped with capacitive sensors. Each metal leaf acts as a tactile sensor, triggering visual elements in VR and altering participants' perceptions, inviting them to reflect on the relationship between technology, the body, and immersion.
Inspired by research in neuroscience and animal behavior, the project incorporates studies on the visual fear response in mice to looming stimuli (imitation of a predator attack). By transposing these principles into VR, Project Bonsai expertly explores the impact of digital stimuli on our instinctive reactions and perception of virtual spaces. Exhibited at National Archives of France (Archives nationales de France)《Les Rencontres ArTeC》
